Self Help Groups(SHG's) are the basic building blocks for change at the grass-roots level and are a central strategy to all programmes developed and implemented by the Academy of Root Development.

Social Perspective:
A major problem for village communities is the forced migration of people to towns and metro cities in search of work. ARD is working to improve social and economic conditions to enable people to achieve sustainable employment and the opportunity to remain within their own villages.
